Singer Markéta Foukalová, best known from the alt-pop band Lanugo, is fulfilling her dream — combining her voice with the intimate sound of an acoustic jazz trio, performing songs beloved among folk enthusiasts. This fresh and original combination takes shape in her brand-new project, Markéta Foukalová FOLK Q.
The repertoire will mainly feature songs that have long found their place around campfires but this time, presented in a completely unconventional form. On stage, Markéta will be accompanied not only by Mikuláš Pokorný, the pianist and arranger of most of the pieces, but also by an outstanding rhythm section: double bassist Jaromír Honzák and drummer Marek Urbánek.

Markéta Foukalová is a singer and songwriter whose work crosses boundaries between genres — from pop and jazz to electronic music. Her solo work, her well-known band Lanugo, and her collaboration with Martin Brunner (nominated for the Czech music award Anděl) are all noteworthy.
Mikuláš Pokorný, a graduate of JAMU in Brno, has established himself both as the leader of his own trio and as a fellow musician of Laco Déczi.
Jaromír Honzák is an icon of Czech jazz, a six-time Anděl Award winner, and head of the Jazz Department at HAMU in Prague.
Marek Urbánek is one of the most sought-after musicians in the Czech Republic, moving fluidly between jazz, hip hop, and R'n'B.
